42 days, DNA and Identity cards

“All forms of governments destroy themselves, by carrying their basic principles to excess. Democracies become too free in politics, in economics, in morals – even in literature and art, until at last even the dogs in our homes, rise up on their hind legs and demand their rights. Disorder grows to such a point that society will then abandon all its liberty to anyone who can restore order.”

Somebody, very learned, and known to most English people on this planet, uttered these words long before Jesus Christ was even heard of.

And now it is happening to us. We have certainly become too free in politics, and most house owners are aware we are too free in economics. The number of feral children on our streets testifies to the moral issue. As for Literature, I need only cite the “Booker Prize” and for art, the “Turner Prize”! And just about every child and its dog is claiming their rights everywhere we turn nowadays.

Now the gullible sheep are allowing the Government to ride roughshod over them with 42 days without trial, ID Cards, DNA registers and the suchlike.

Plato knew about this and he didn’t even know Gordon Brown, Tony Blair or David Cameron.

For those who haven’t heard about Plato, or who have but know very little about him, the following has been extracted from Wikipedia:

Plato (Greek: Πλάτων, Plátōn, “broad”)[1] (428/427 BC[a] – 348/347 BC), was a Classical Greek philosopher, who, together with his teacher, Socrates, and his student, Aristotle, helped to lay the foundations of Western philosophy. Plato was also a mathematician, writer of philosophical dialogues, and founder of the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the western world.
